Over the past few years there has been ongoing work by the Avatar's Abode Trust, with the facilitation of Henry Price, in the development of a Strategic Plan. This document will guide Trust processes and operations over the coming decades, with planned review every three years. This is envisaged as a working document, which guides meeting content (both the Trust and its sub-committees) and decision making, and can be reviewed and changed as the development of the property and the community dictates.
Part A of the Strategic Plan 2006-2009 was published in the December 2005 Meher Baba Australia, and feedback has been offered from several quarters. This part, based on the Trust Deed, was intended to provide a strong and necessary base for the development of Part B, the practical operational part of the plan, which is currently being detailed (August 2006). There will be a cycle of review and refining built in as part of an ongoing process. 2008 will be the review of Part A for the 2009-2012 Strategic Plan.
At all times, the Trust strives to remain true to the original intent of the Trust Deed, whilst improving its duty of care to visitors to His Abode, practising good governance, and meeting all legal obligations. The Trust acknowledges there is a limit to the scope of this strategic document at this time.
In the future, as Beloved Baba's Message spreads, it is hoped to expand the vision, embrace future opportunities and address issues of concern for the Baba community and visitors to His Abode and to do so in a full and consultative process.
